CCR Megalodon purchase options
The CCR Megalodon rebreather may be purchased through us from Inner Space Systems Corporation in a variety of ways, to suit the customer’s needs and equipment requirements. Prior proof of training is needed in order to purchase a CCR Megalodon either as APECS e-CCR or COPIS m-CCR version, or the Instructor to be can purchase the unit for the student prior training to have the unit available for the training program. The following are the options the customer may select.
Megalodon Complete: 1000 Denier Cordura counter lungs, breathing hose assembly, 5.5lb axial scrubber canister, APECS electronics, BLACK annodized aluminum gas plenum canister (standard), stainless steel single tank adapter, non anodized Aluminum back plate w/Hogarth harness/crotch strap, shoulder straps for the counter lungs, LP hoses,19 cuft/2.6 liter, 3 AL 3000 PSI/207 BAR cylinders, pro valves, HP gauges (your choice of PSI or BAR), 1st.stages, Auto Demand Valve (ADV), Diluent Addition Valve (DIV),Heads Up Display (HUD), Mixed gas bypass (MGB) w/spare hose, dust caps, hat, spare cylinder stickers, helmet logo sticker. Note: The Meg does not come with any cylinder mounting systems unless requested. Cylinders and valves will not be sold to European countries that have different cylinder requirements. Cylinders and valves meet US and Canadian DOT specifications.
Megalodon Lite: Same specifications as the Megalodon Complete, but without the cylinders and valves.
Megalodon Stripped: Compared to the Complete Megalodon, it comes without backplate, cylinders, valves, first stages, pressure gauges, and high pressure hoses.
Mini Meg: The Mini Meg is the smaller version of the Meg, (~1/4 smaller) most parts are compatible between the two so the diver may exchange components to fit the requirements of the dive. The Mini Meg is priced the same as the Meg and comes with the same components as listed with the exception of smaller cylinders. The 13 cuft/1.7 liter cylinders allow for the Meg to stand in an upright position. A 3.75 lb axial scrubber canister with duration of 120 minutes is standard and depth limit of 200 fsw with HeO2 mixes.
COPIS - Constant Oxygen Pressure Injection System is a non electronic driven system M-CCR. The M-CCR COPIS Megalodon rebreather is a diver/operator manual oxygen addition system with a constant oxygen pressure first stage that injects through an orifice system a .69 liter per minute (or more) of oxygen for the diver. The system is popular with CCR divers that want electronic simplicity but the full build quality and capability of the Megalodon. Comes with a flow meter for calibrating the oxygen first stage regulator's interstage pressure for adjusting the flow rate. The COPIS Meg complete is equipped as Meg complete option, COPIS Meg stripped is equipped as Meg stripped option. Comes with BLACK annodized aluminum gas plenum canister as standard. The COPIS II does come with a HUD. Both options may come with a mini or full Meg gas plenum canister.
Highly recommended options:
Diluent isolator valve: DIV provides for a method of isolating the ADV for mixed gas transitions or shutting off the ADV from adding to much diluent. This comes standard with the stripped and complete versions of the Meg.
Meg O-ring kit: The O-ring kit provides for the diver to replace any of the o-rings in the breathing loop of the Meg. Additional parts hardware and soft goods for the diver that are hard to find if you were to out source parts in the field are also included.
Head only calibration kit: Kit includes a flow restrictor with standard BC style quick disconnect nipple, hose, inlet port plug, and outlet cap with exhaust port. This kit simplifies calibration of the Meg head using very little oxygen.
Neoprene Counterlungs: The lungs are great to maintain warmer loop temperature, minimal in water drag, and minimal loop volume. They are not as tough as the standard counterlungs so extra care is required but the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Custom size counterlungs are available upon request at no extra charge to the dealer.
TigerGear™ cylinder mounting system: This is the best system out there for toughness, reliability, quick cylinder change out, and the ability to hold various size cylinders to fit the diver’s needs and still look really good.
Cylinder, Aluminum 19 cu ft. 2.6 liter/3000 PSI with Thermo pro valve. These are only available to current Meg owners or ordered with Stripped Megs.
Cylinder, Steel 23cf/3Liter, 3442 PSI (19cf @2400PSI) with Thermo pro valve. These steels provide for a better gas fill at lower pressures and swimming trim. These are only available to current Meg owners or ordered with Stripped Megs.
Cylinder set UPGRADE, Steel , 23cf/3Liter, 3442 PSI (19cf @2400PSI) with Thermo pro Valves. 2 Each. Upgrade from aluminum cylinders on Complete MEG packages (APECS & COPIS) only.
Battery Pack, 5-cell. These are the standard 5-cell AA industrial alkaline battery packs assembled by ISC. They are used on all the ISC rebreather assemblies
