Type of Rebreather: CCR constant mass flow and manual injected oxygen with three oxygen sensors.

Can size: Mini, Cave, Standard, Extended

Number of handsets: One hand sets for the OPIS e-CCR, electronics easy to use menu with excellent milivolt ( mV ) readings to see when the sensors expire or for oxygen calibration. Great display of batteries voltage to see when they are ready for a new set. Earlier COPIS versions 1 and currently 2.

Shearwater spliced in dive computers or Liquivision X1 attachement points through Fisher connectors are available.

Location of main electronics: The main electronics are located in the lid right next to the sensors, solenoid and battery compartments. Older units have the electronics podded while newer units have a electronics housing allowing the individual circuit boards to be replaced should the need arise, instead of changing the whole electronics section.

Information displayed in the handsets: No decompression information, time or depth is displayed at this point in time. The Po2 is displayed on the main default screen.

Heads Up Electronics ( HUD ): Rebreather has optional HUD that is a must have item, that works great. Amber blink on single LED version or red and green blink togehter on two LED version: Po2 is 1.0

Red blink: Per red blink a Po2 of 0.1 below Po2 of 1.0. Rapid fire red blinking is Po2 below 0.5

Green blink: Per green blink a Po2 of 0.1 above Po2 of 1.0

Sensors: Three Theledyne R22D sensor are used in the original manufacturer version. Other sensors such as th A.I. sensors working well too.

Batteries: Battery pack utilizing AA batteries that have to be soldered together into packs of 5 sitting in two independent battery compartments inside the stack and lid together with the main switches. Larger D size Lithium cell packs can be used as well as 9 V block batteries with cable adapter.

Automatic Dilluent Valve ( ADV ): Optional available with older larger version utilizing a Scubapro second stage and newer streamlined version designed by Innerspace Systems. A must have item.

Diveable weight: Around 75 lbs / 35 kilos with absorbent and depending on what size and material of onboard tanks was chosen.

Travel weight: Unit can be shipped in carry on without tanks, excellent choice for people who travel a lot.

Canister design: Unit can be dived with regular absorbent canister designed to hold 2 ½ kilos absorbent with axial flow. Optional are the Extended Air cartridges from Micropore with two special adapters as well as radial flow cannisters.

Canister duration: Axial flow canister around 4 hours with 797 grade Sofnolime or Sodasorb in warm water. Around 3 hours in cold water. With the radial flow cannister 6 to 9 hours with 797 grade absorbent in warm water can be reached depending on scrubber size. Radial or Extend Air Cartridges adapters and use optional.

Absorbent recommended: Grade 797 Sofnolime. Larger grain absorbent can be used. Medical grade absorbent as well as Draegersorb has been used by some divers.

Counterlungs and position: Two over the shoulder counterlungs out of neoprene or lined denier material, around 5 ltr. capacity. The inhalation counterlung on the right side has one oxygen inflator connected to the oxygen tank.

The exhalation counterlung on the left has the ADV and the dilluent inflator, both connected to the dilluent tank and the overpressure valve at the bottom of the lung which allows for excellent flood recovery. The gas flow and rotation is counter clock wise.

The Manta counterlung is a backmounted shoulder counterlung sitting on the divers shoulders cleaning up the profile and is leaving the chest area free and uncluttered.

Flood recovery: Very food flood recovery due to low overpressure valve in exhalation counterlung. Large water trap in bottom of stack housing, closed and water tight battery compartment as well as electronics.

Support locations worldwide: U.S.A., Canada, Mexico, Europe, Asia, Australia, South America

Special uses of unit: The COPIS Megalodon m-CCR is an excent choice for shallow ater diving due to constant oxygen flow into the unit as well as for divers who do not like electronic control over their injection rate.

Current delivery time: Around 2-6 weeks.
